Martinez-Cruz is an Assistant Professor of Latina/o Cultural Studies at The Ohio State University whose books include Women and Knowledge in Mesoamerica: From East L.A. to Anahuac (University of Arizona Press, 2011), Rebeldes: A Proyecto Latina Anthology (editor, Proyecto Latina, 2013), and the English translation of Ponciá Vicencio (Host Publications, 2007). Her creative and scholarly writings have been featured in Latino Studies Journal, PALABRA, Nerter (Canary Islands), Performing the US Latin@ Borderlands, Voces and Ariel Journal. Her individual and group performances deal with the conflation Latina womanhood and terror, and the objectification of Latinas in the marketplace.
